Fr. Dr. Jacob Joseph
(Vicar, St. Thomas JSO Church)
Greetings to everyone in the name of the Triune God! It is with immense gratitude that I thank God Almighty for enabling the St. Thomas Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Melbourne, to serve in this foreign land for almost the past 12 years.
To witness Christ in this land, the support and encouragement of the Syrian Orthodox Community, the clergy, and the beloved bishops need special applause. I must express my gratitude to everyone who has played a crucial role in fostering the relationship between the Middle Eastern Syrian Orthodox community and the Malankara Syrian Orthodox community. I extend my gratitude to all the St. Thomas parish members, the managing committee, the building committee, and the members of all spiritual organizations for their dedicated and tireless work in making our mission of building a new church a reality.
Easter Message ( 05 – April – 2026)
Dearly beloved sisters and brothers in Christ,
Qum Moran Men Qabaro—He is Risen!
It is with immense joy that we enter into another liturgical calendar of the feast of Qumtho—the resurrection of our Lord. The past 50 days of Lent have been a beautiful and spiritual journey for all of us.
I am sure that we all have rejuvenated ourselves to be able to withstand the challenges of the world with the hope that our resurrected Lord is always with us to guide us in the time of darkness, hopelessness, lifelessness, etc.
I pray that St. Thomas JSO Church in Dallas, as a community of faithful, will uphold a life of responsibility and spiritual awakening, fostering transformative experiences both within the church and in society.
We live in a world that needs more healing and love to unite people across divides. The lack of peace in the world threatens the innocent lives of people because of war, social atrocities, anger, and greed. May the resurrection of the Lord offer life, love, and peace.
Wishing you all a blessed and graceful feast of resurrection.
